Cybersmart - Making Animations on Google Slides

On Friday we had a Cybersmart Master Class with Mr Goodwin!

He gave us an awesome lesson on how to make animations using Google Slides!

New Zealand had just won the America's Cup - so we decided to make animations about boats. We hope you like them!

Minefield Challenge - Human Coding!

What a great start to our year in Room 7 at Tamaki Primary!

We have been enjoying heaps of Mr Roy's start of the year teamwork challenges. Today we had to cross his minefield!

Minefield + Mr Roy's Map!

Mr Roy drew a 12 x 12 grid with chalk on our classroom floor. He also drew a map with the correct path on it.

It took a long time to figure out the path!

We took turns crossing the minefield - we had to figure out the right path to get all the way across for our reward of free time! If we stepped on a mine Mr Roy would shout "BOOM"

We used directional language to communicate to our classmates which path to take! Just like coding - but with humans!

Thanks for checking out our work - leave us a comment and watch this space for more!

Room 4 - Practicing our Pepehas!

Room 4 has been reading a LOT about pepeha - a pepeha is an important introduction of yourself. A pepeha tells us about you and your whanau's background.

We read and talked about what a pepeha is, and what we need to include in our own pepeha.

We started off writing our own small version of a pepeha for practice.  We read them out loud to learn them and make sure our pronunciation is on point!

Have a listen to Katana and Sosaia practicing below!
